Useful
English sites
www.lawsociety.org.uk
The
Law Society's site. This is a useful starting point (especially if you
are interested in qualifying as an English solicitor).
www.venables.co.uk
Delia Venables'
site is an awesome resource. It contains almost every form of British
legal contact/information you might want.
www.open.gov.uk/lcd/lcdhome.htm
The Lord Chancellor's
Department's site. England has no Justice Department or Department of
The Courts. The Lord Chancellor (presently Lord Irvine) is charged with
the administration of the judicial system. The LCD site contains information
on the Courts/Judges/Woolf Reforms/Civil Procedure Rules. The last two
subjects are essential reading if you intend to work in litigation in
England.
www.thisislondon.com
The Evening
Standard's site. The ES is London's evening newspaper. As well as carrying
the stories of the day this site is a mine of news about what is going
on in London (entertainment/fashion/jobs/accommodation).
www.the-times.co.uk
The Times' site
is not as comprehensive as the ES site, but still provides a lot of
information that will be useful to you before you leave New Zealand.
Useful
New
Zealand sites
www.nz-lawsoc.org.nz
The New Zealand
Law Society's site provides
an excellent range of information, including links to other useful New
Zealand law sites
www.nzherald.co.nz
The New Zealand
Herald is the Auckland equivalent of The Telegraph/The Times (NB New
Zealand does not have national newspapers; each major centre has its
own publications)
www.press.co.nz
The Press is
Christchurch's version of the Herald.
